  BUFFALO MEN'S BAR STORIES
No New Topic Remembering the Old Bars
Originally the term "coming out" meant discovering that there were other gay men in Buffalo and those men partied in gay bars. People would even ask "Who brought you out?" The men's bars were magical fun places to gather and our project hopes to recapture those wonderful times. Please use this section to discuss the old bars.

  BREAKFAST AFTER THE BARS
No New Topic All-Nite Diners and Dumps
Going out for breakfast after last call was a big part of Buffalo bar hopping. In the wee hours of the morning entire restaurants were suddenly overrun with boisterous gays and lesbians, usually to the delight of the waitresses and to the bewilderment of the straight customers. Please use this section to discuss those experiences.

  OTHER PLACES MEN MET UP
No New Topic Do Tearooms Serve Tea?
Whether it be cruising the crowds at Kleinhan's Music Hall or wading the tall weeds at Woodlawn Beach, Buffalo gay men have an uncanny ability to find each other.
To avoid social disdain, gay men often met in clandestine locations around the city, from infamous "tearooms" to adult bookstores to movie theater balconies. Driving around and around the gay "red-light district" was popular, along with "doing it in the bushes." Please use this section to discuss those underground gay activities.
